Billing, Cancellation & Refunds

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This page explains what you are charged, how to stop being charged, and what happens to your data when you do. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Free trial

Every new workspace starts with a 14-day free trial. No card is required to start it, and nothing is charged when it ends — if you do not subscribe, the workspace simply stops accepting new requests and your data stays where it is until you delete it.

2. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe, our payment processor, on the cycle shown at checkout. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies to you.

If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you before the change takes effect on your account, and you can cancel first.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel yourself, at any time, from inside Occupella — Settings → Billing → Manage subscription. There is no phone call, no email required, and nothing you have to talk your way past.

Cancelling stops the next charge. Your plan stays active through the period you have already paid for, and the workspace switches to read-only after that rather than disappearing.

4. Refunds

We do not automatically refund partial billing periods — cancelling ends future charges rather than reversing the current one.

That said, if Occupella was unusable for a meaningful part of a period you paid for, or you were charged in a way you did not expect, email team@occupella.com and we will look at it and put it right. We would rather refund somebody who asks than keep money from somebody who feels misled.

Where local consumer law gives you a stronger refund right than this page does, that law applies.

5. Failed payments

If a payment fails, we do not cut you off that day. Stripe retries the card over the following weeks and Occupella keeps working while it does. We show a notice in the app so the failure is not a surprise. If the payment is still outstanding after 21 days, the workspace is paused until it is settled — paused, not deleted.

6. Your data when you stop paying

A paused or lapsed workspace keeps its data. You can export everything your company has in Occupella as a set of CSV files at any time, including after a subscription ends — Settings → Export. Deleting the workspace is a separate, deliberate action that you take yourself, and it is permanent; see the Privacy Policy for what deletion removes.

7. Connected systems

Data Occupella mirrors from a system you connect — for example Buildium — is a cache held under that provider's API licence. Disconnecting the integration removes that mirrored copy from Occupella; reconnecting re-syncs it. Your records in the provider's own system are untouched either way.

8. Questions

Occupella is operated by Oscar Ventures LLC, which is the entity your subscription is with. Anything about a charge, a refund, or an invoice: team@occupella.com. A person reads that inbox.
